Late on the night of Friday, April 15th, 2022, the Rockville Centre Fire Department operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on State Street off New York Avenue. The fire was in a detached garage with no exposure issues. Firefighters put two hand lines into operation and had the main body of fire quickly knocked down. The Baldwin Fire Department also had units on scene and assisting in the operation. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Rockville Centre Chief of Department Avondet [4401]. Defender Hose Co. 1 responded with Firefighters 1Lt. Andrew Krahm, Chief Chauffeur Charlie Krahm, Firefighter Matt Villalon, and Probational Firefighter Paul Mata.
